You Ate, We Drove

Our day-long pilgrimage to three of the best barbecue joints in the Hill Country area began with a drive to Opie’s Barbecue in Spicewood. Then it was on to a midday repast at Cooper’s Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que in Llano, followed up with a feast at La Barbecue in Austin. Texas Monthly barbecue editor Daniel Vaughn and the pitmasters shared stories and secrets of the trade, while guests kept cool by enjoying Lone Star Beer kept ice-cold in YETI Coolers.
