BBQ Pop-Up in Brooklyn
We’re coming to Brooklyn this week, and we’re bringing some pitmasters with us. Texas Monthly is holding our second annual barbecue pop-up at the new Brooklyn location of Hill Country Barbecue Market this Thursday evening. Three of Texas’s best will be providing some of their specialty smoked meats. Here is the line-up:
Louie Mueller Barbecue – Taylor, Texas
Wayne Mueller is bringing his pepper crusted brisket and behemoth beef ribs.
Stanley’s Famous Pit Barbecue – Tyler, Texas
Nick Pencis smokes some of the best pork ribs in Texas, and he’s bring a few dozen racks of these baby backs.
Black’s BBQ – Lockhart, Texas
Kent Black is a second generation pitmaster for one of Texas’s oldest barbecue joints.
If you’ve already purchased tickets we regret that Dallas’s Pecan Lodge is no longer part of the line-up. Pitmaster Justin Fourton had a family emergency which will not allow him to travel. Kent Black of the storied Black’s BBQ in Lockhart has stepped up to provide his famous smoked turkey and his family recipe smoked sausage, a recipe that’s been smoking since 1932. It’s going to get meaty.
